THE FREE REFORMED CHURCH OF OXFORD COUNTY IS A MEMBER OF THE FEDERATION OF THE FREE REFORMED CHURCHES OF NORTH AMERICA.

The Free Reformed Churches of North America desire to be Biblical and Reformed Churches in North America. We treasure the God-given insights of previous generations especially as they are expressed in our confessions (Apostolic, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds; Belgic Confession, Heidelberg Catechism, and Canons of Dort). We recognize we have many shortcomings, yet we strive to see these truths known, embraced, experienced and practiced today. Our greatest desire is to see the grace and glory of the Triune God magnified in our congregations and through them to many others around the world.

WE ARe REFORMED

We are a Reformed church, meaning we hold to traditionally defined reformed theology, as outlined in our confessions, those being the Three Forms of Unity. These include the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dort. All of our members and office bearers must subscribe to these. The doctrines within are derived directly from Holy Scripture, which is our final and ultimate authority.

OUR PASTOR

Reverend Lawrence J. Bilkes pastors the congregation of the Free Reformed Church of Oxford County. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI, USA in May 2003 and was ordained into the ministry of the Word in October 2003. He served the Ebenezer Free Reformed Church of Dundas, ON from October 2003 until June 2021. Rev. Lawrence J. Bilkes is a sinner saved by grace who desires to set forth Christ and Him crucified and to see Christ formed in His people (1 Cor. 2:2, Gal. 4:19). He worked in the criminal justice system for several years prior to being called to the ministry. He was trained at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary and has pastored the Ebenezer Free Reformed Church from October 2003 until June 2021. He is married to his wife Ellen and together they have eight children.

OUR HISTORY

Our congregation was instituted July 21, 2013. We have been shepherded by Dr. David Kranendonk (2013-2021) and currently Rev. L.J. Bilkes. (July 9, 2021). Since then our congregation has grown to about about 200 members.
